on work vs. rest | no nonsense. 013.

Late one today…there was an internet outage that lasted until 5pm EST today.

I was working off of my phone’s hotspot in the morning but had to postpone a majority of the writing for this week’s article and this newsletter until after I got back online because it was mad slow.

So here we are…I hope you enjoy.

This is a topic everyone should take some time to think about: work vs. rest.

Why?

Mastery of work vs. rest is one of the keys to success 🔐

1 place you don’t want to be: the middle

work hard or rest hard. nothing in between. | me

Do not get stuck in the middle. It’s where dreams go to die.

#2 kevin’s rule | Jesse Itzler

Every other month, do something you normally wouldn’t have done.

That’s 6 mini adventures every year…

  • x10 = 60 adventures

  • x20 = 120 adventures

  • x50 = 300 adventures

Go on more adventures. Be intentional about scheduling them.

Life’s short.

Why you should never coast at work | @aliabdaal

Giving more energy to your work doesn’t take away, but actually renews your energy.

Coasting in the middle is way more draining than giving your full effort.

3 songs i’ve been chillin on

I put these songs on when I’m either up at the pool completely zoning out, or on walks after long stretches of work.

I’ve only just discovered a few of these over the past few weeks. My “chill” songs definitely change very frequently. I’ll probably have some new ones next week. But here you are:

^this whole album is so good. listen to it top to bottom on your next pensive walk.

^saw him live last week at Jazz Fest in NOLA. guy can rip on the guitar. i was impressed. not my usual type of music, but he has some bangers. it’s important to mix it up. (bonus vid)

Hope you have a nice week full of 1s and 10s - get those 5s and 6s outta here.

No stats this week, I’ll give you those next week.

You wanna know now? You know where to look. Go for it.

I’ll give you this to chew on for now…(youtube)

That’s all though.

It’s been a long day.

Time to rest.

Hard.

-Ry
