On Pivoting | Contentsation 007
Before we get into it this week, I’m announcing another change to this newsletter. I know, I know…
Another month, another iteration.
This time, same name, same format. But there will be a narrower scope going forward.
I’ve found myself stretching to pull in video clips or tweets about a given topic some weeks, and in others, things were a bit all over the place.
Also, I realized I hate long ass emails.
This is something I already knew. But in regards to this newsletter, I felt like I had so much to share that I didn’t want to limit myself. And I still don’t want to limit myself…so…
I’m going to be dropping from 1,2,3,4,5 - 15 pieces of content total (sheesh, even just writing ‘15’ seems like a lot), down to 1,2,3 - 6 pieces total, which I think will be much more appetizing for you all 😋
Less is more, until, of course, more is more. But in this case, less is more holds true.
Doing less here - only 1,2,3 - will allow me to make things more cohesive, save me some time to work on other things that I’ve been putting on the backburner, and it also won’t take your whole Saturday to get through anymore.
As mentioned here, James Clear does his 1-2-3 Newsletter…I know, I know. His is structured into: 3 short ideas from him, 2 quotes from others, and 1 question for you to ponder.
Mine will keep the 1,2,3 format but will still be like a mystery box 🎁
There will still be at least 1 article by yours truly, don’t you worry :)
Who knows, end of April we may see yet another change…
And with that, I give you On Pivoting | Contentsation 007

This Is What I Mean | Stormzy
Not a song, but an album.
My favorite Stormzy album.
Known primarily as a rapper prior, he went and dropped this album that is mostly a form of R&B, which was complete departure from what we were used to seeing from him.
I love when artists do this. Keep us on our toes.
There are only 2 rap songs on this album (This Is What I Mean and My Presidents Are Black).
The rest of the tracks are extremely sentimental slower songs. The keys throughout this album are probably my favorite part.
When you make a pivot, it may feel a bit odd at first. But if it’s something you believe in, you should do it. People will feel that. It will resonate with the right people, regardless of anyone’s preconceived notion of you, just like this album did.
Here’s another bonus for you. Stormzy visits Rick Rubin to share this album with him song by song…enjoy :)
So, what’s your next move??
