cut the bullsh*t. no more nonsense. commit š¤
Iām changing the name of my newsletter.
New name:
no.nonsense.
Why āno nonsenseāā¦?
I had a call with @zachpogrob to talk about how the PR30 challenge was going for me, and as we started talking about the videos, we got into the brand Iām trying to build.
He gave me some great advice on tightening up my brandās message. My twitter bio was too generic and unclear. I had things like āWriting | Psych | Mindsetāā¦blah blah blah. These things are a dime a dozen. You see this everywhere. And what does it all actually mean anyway?
Your social media bio is such an important part of your personal brand. It should clearly state what youāre about:
What are you actually trying to do?
What is the message youāre trying to get to people?
How can you help a person who comes across your profile?
Whatās in it for them?
Attention is the #1 currency in the world right now. People wonāt want to spend their time on your content if they:
1. donāt know what it is or 2. donāt think it will help them in any way.
So I had to get in the lab and think about what Iām actually about.
What am I trying to do here?
Iām trying to help people, sureā¦but how?
What do I have to offer?
I talked to some close friends and asked them what they thought.
Quick tip: if you have a friend who is in consulting, ask them for advice. Itās literally what they do: make other peopleās things make sense to their audience. (cheers lad)
I told him, āiām trying to build a digital empire.ā
His response, āwhat does that mean though?ā
He was right.
āDigital Empireā sounds great, sureā¦but what does it actually mean?
It feels like something someone would say who wants to do something but doesnāt really know what it is theyāre trying to do.
Soā¦āwhat I do I want to do?ā I asked myself.
Whatās at the core of what Iām trying to do here?
What can I offer?
We talked about it more.
He told me this, āwhen people ask me what it is youāre doing on social media, I tell them, āheās super ambitious, and if he decides he wants to do something, heās gonna do it. And heās had various things where heās put his mind to a goal, gotten it done, and now wants to share what heās learned along the way with people to help them do it, too.ā
This is something Iāve known, but itās nice to hear it from someone else. Sometimes youāre so into something that itās hard to see the bigger picture.
Itās something Iāve been talking about in various articles and videos, but it didnāt fully click for me until I had these convos yesterday and really thought about everything Iāve put out so far.
Reminder: reflection is key.
Conclusionā¦
I know one thing about me is for certain:
If I want to do somethingā¦like actually fully commit š¤ to doing something, itās as good as done.
It does take me a while to get to that point sometimes, I will admit, but I know that when I put my full focus on something, Iāll get it done.
I waited a while to start all of this. Monthsā¦years even. But now Iām here and here to stay.
If thereās a goal I decide I want to accomplish, Iāll find a way to make it work by sticking to it. No matter what.
I want to help people who were like me before I committed: highly ambitious people who are either scared to start or just confused on how/where to start.
In the videos, articles and newsletter, Iām talking to myself from a few months ago, before I started all of this. Because that time is hard. Itās a time when you need some help. You feel so lost but also hungry for change. You have all of this built up energy, but you just donāt know what to do with it. And it can be both debilitating and detrimental to your mental health.
I want to help people who were like me get out of that low period. I want to help people start the thing theyāve always wanted to start.
Business, social media, personal brand, videos, newsletters, getting in shape, learning a skillā¦whatever it isā¦
So many people suppress their talents and their ambition to be truly great because of the constraints that society and life as a whole has put on them. You can feel like life is happening to you instead of you making a life of your own.
I want to inspire people to say:
Fuck that.
Cut the bullshit. You know what you have to do. You know it wonāt be easy. Stop overthinking everything.
Do you really want to die leaving your greatness on the table?
You know you can do it.
Commit š¤
Enough is enough. Itās time.
And guess what?
Youāre not alone.
Iām right here by your side. Weāre going to do this together š¤
I will show up every day to make sure you and I both reach our full potential.
No more waiting. No more overthinking. No more nonsense.
Letās fucking do this shit.
